Alina Samarkanova

Alina Samarkanova born in 2002 in Kazakhstan.

She studied at Seattle Central College, Washington, where she graduated in 2020. In 2022, she attended Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, Canada, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and recently a Master’s degree in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies at NABA in Milan, where she currently lives and works.

In her works, she reflect on how we carry and preserve memory, particularly memories of childhood and the domestic spaces that shaped us. Home is never simply a physical place; it is a repository of fragments, a landscape where past experiences, imagination, and emotion intersect. Rooms, objects, and lingering traces of presence shape how we remember and reimagine.
