Vasilasa Vertinskaia born in 1999 in Moscow Russia, is a young ceramic artist whose practice explores themes of transformation.
She lives and works in Pietrasanta and now studies sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara.
Her practice is shaped by displacement, myth, the surreal and often grotesque qualities of everyday life. Her work has been exhibited in several group exhibitions.
Vasilisa is currently working on personal projects expressing complex feelings of shifting perception.
The artist uses the imagery of grotesques to explore the constantly shifting perception of mundane human experiences, such as love, physical proximity and feelings of shame and anxiety.
