Zhichao Ou
Zhichao Ou born in 2000, Guandong, China.
He lives and works in Milan, where he is attending the Academy of Fine Arts, studying painting with Professor Adrian Paci.
He previously studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Guangzhou, where he participated in a group exhibition at the FFMM Gallery.
In 2005, he participated in the exhibition Cartografie della memoria, Viaggio nell’Archivio della Società Umanitaria at the Società Umanitaria in Milan.
His artistic practice mainly depicts objects and people from everyday life. What he depicts are not the events themselves, but the traces they have left within him. The people around him are no longer defined by their appearance, but become emotional contours. Through painting, he tries to capture these fleeting vibrations, slowly transforming them into metaphors of restlessness, nostalgia, intimacy, distance, and admiration.
